The 3rd European Laryngological Live Surgery Broadcast, took place on 13 December 2017. The international broadcast was presented and moderated to a global audience live from the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, Poznan, Poland.
With an estimated 10,000 viewers from all around the world, 10 clinics in seven different countries performed a variation of laryngological procedures including endoscopic resections of laryngeal cancer, endoscopic and open approach for Zenker’s diverticulum, vocal fold injection and treatment of recurrent respiratory papilomatosis. New techniques such as TORS and flexible CO2 laser surgery for glottis cancer and benign intraglottic disease were also demonstrated.
The initiator of this event is Prof Witold Szyfter from the Department of Otolaryngology at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Together with his partners at the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, Prof Szyfter has created a platform which brings together surgical expertise and state of the art IT support in an educational and inspiring program which the European Laryngological Society is proud to endorse.
