A Milestone Celebration in São Paulo

In August, São Paulo hosted the 24th Congress of the Otorhinolaryngology Foundation (FORL), commemorating the Foundation’s 30th anniversary. Established in 1995, FORL continues to drive excellence in education, research and clinical practice in Brazil and beyond. This edition stood out not only for its scientific depth but also for the spirit of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The 24th Congress of FORL was the largest national meeting, uniting otorhinolaryngologists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists and allied professionals. Focused on knowledge exchange and clinical innovation, it provided a multidisciplinary learning environment that also welcomed specialists in psychology, physiotherapy, engineering and social work – offering fresh perspectives to enhance patient care.
Central to the event was a commitment to integrated, patient-centered approaches.

Over three days, participants engaged with national and international keynote speakers, participated in debates, panels, and scientific presentations – all spotlighting the evolution and frontiers of otolaryngology and speech-language pathology. To support this breadth, the Congress featured 19 dedicated session rooms, allowing attendees to tailor their learning to their professional interests.

Innovative programme elements included live surgical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, interactive case-based sessions and digital engagement tools that enabled real-time interaction with presenters. The congress also showcased the ‘FORLCAST’ podcast, which offered a fresh and dynamic way to extend scientific discussions and connect with a broader audience.

The event further distinguished itself with multidisciplinary roundtables, where professionals from ENT, audiology, speech therapy, neurosurgery, radiology, psychology and public health came together to discuss comprehensive patient care.

The 24th Congress successfully blended three decades of legacy with forward-looking innovation – highlighting Brazil’s leadership in otolaryngology while inspiring new collaborations and discoveries. São Paulo once again proved to be an ideal host, offering world-class infrastructure alongside rich cultural and gastronomic experiences – an ideal pairing for such a vibrant scientific event.

Looking ahead, the Foundation announced that the 25th Congress of the Otorhinolaryngology Foundation will take place from August 20 to 22, 2026, at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in São Paulo, Brazil, continuing the tradition and advancing its mission of promoting scientific exchange and innovation.
