The AtoZ Head and Neck conference was superbly organised, ticking all the boxes for junior doctors interested in ENT. It’s great to see free and easily accessible conferences, exposing the breath of ENT, reflected by the impressive turnout.
Mr Jagtar Dhanda, built on these principles with a fascinating talk on free educational VR resources. There was an incredible range of oral presentations from medical students to SHOs, from all over the country and even some abroad. Highlighting the newest technologies with HoloLens to blood testing and ensuring we are doing the basics right.
Miss Emma Stapleton provides an insight to the BRINOS Hospital in Nepal, where there is a focus on local training, development and sustainability through responsible partnership.
My particular highlight was Mrs Emma Stapleton’s talk on her charity work with BRINOS and HUGS. As someone who was unfortunately turned away in Nepal due to COVID, it was inspirational hearing the work that she has done there and in Uganda and especially her message of sustainable philanthropy. Amazing work and a massive thank you to the AtoZ Committee for putting this conference together.

Presenting and being a part of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery day was interesting and hugely enjoyable. Maxillofacial surgery covers a wide variety of topics and presenters ranged from medical students to surgical registrars.
A highlight of the day was seeing how there are so many other dedicated trainees are taking advantage of learning opportunities to improve this niche surgical speciality. We were so proud to present our quality improvement project about paediatric facial lacerations - it shows that simple, straightforward ideas can improve patient outcomes and ease clinical workload!
