BAAP Mid Year Symposium 2026

A half-day educational programme on a virtual platform, covering disorders of hearing and balance in a variety of infectious diseases including congenital and neonatal infections, syphillis, post-cochlear implant infections and complications, COVID19 and encephalitis.

  Audiovestibular mechanisms of dysfunction following paediatric infections: Prof Soumit Dasgupta, Consultant Audiovestibular Physician, Clinical Lead in Audiology/Audiovestibular Medicine at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
• Otologic manifestations of congenital and neonatal infections: Dr Helen Payne, Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children
• Otosyphilis: Dr Soonita Oomeer, Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine, Syphilis Lead for CNWL Sexual Health services within North Central London
• Post-cochlear implant infection and complications: Dr Rajesh Rajendran, Consultant Microbiologist, Deputy Director for Infection Control at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
