A landmark gathering for regional and global otolaryngology

The 9th Baltic ENT Congress promises to be one of the most comprehensive and dynamic meetings in the region’s otolaryngology calendar. Bringing together leading clinicians, researchers and surgeons from Europe and beyond, the congress offers an exceptional two‑day programme spanning sleep medicine, rhinology, audio‑vestibulology, head and neck surgery, laryngology and general ENT.
The scientific programme opens with a keynote by Maria Suurna (University of Miami) on innovations in sleep surgery and evolving treatment algorithms for obstructive sleep apnea. This is followed by parallel sessions in rhinology and audio‑vestibulology, including a keynote by Paolo Battaglia on transmaxillary approaches to the upper parapharyngeal spaces and infratemporal fossa, and Jeffrey Sharon (UCSF) discussing the latest evidence on vestibular migraine.
Free paper sessions highlight regional scientific contributions, covering topics from crooked‑nose surgery and chronic rhinosinusitis immunology to complex audiological case studies. Keynotes by Jure Urbancic on frontal sinus surgery and Jolie Chang (UCSF) on updated palatopharyngoplasty techniques further enrich the first day. Roundtable discussions bring together experts such as Saulius Vaitkus, Ashutosh Kacker and Heisl Vaher, fostering dialogue on surgical challenges and emerging therapies. The day will conclude with a gala dinner at the historic Seaplane Harbor.
Day two shifts focus to head and neck oncology, beginning with Chris Holsinger (Stanford University) on multidisciplinary management of HPV‑positive oropharyngeal cancer. Additional highlights include Ashutosh Kacker on nasal surgery in sleep apnea, Michael Pitman (Columbia University) on laryngopharyngeal reflux, and Thomas Hummel (TU Dresden) on olfactory dysfunction. Sessions in laryngology and general ENT feature cutting‑edge research, from minimally invasive laryngeal surgery to AI applications in clinical practice, presented by Alberto Paderno.
With its rich scientific content and strong international faculty, the 9th Baltic ENT Congress stands as a key platform for advancing otolaryngology across the Baltic region and Europe.
