Since the year 2011, the Emirates Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Communication Disorders Congress (EROC) is a popular annual conference. The congress has progressed to encompass a broad range of topics in ENT care and management attracting a growing number of attendees, both regional and international. The congress hosts more than 1,000 delegates from across the region each year.

This year the EROC 2018 conference was organised in collaboration with the Austrian ENT Society. The program was extensive with seven days of pre and post congress hands-on trainings and dissection of cadaver workshops and parallel sessions/ tracks during the course of three days of the conference. The congress has provided a platform to share experiences and discuss breakthroughs in various specialist fields. The committee arranged included keynote lectures, round table discussions, instructional courses, video sessions, and abstract sessions covering a wide array of topics and introducing to the latest technologies and techniques in the field. Prominent speakers from all over the world attended including Shaun Kilty (Canada); Daniel Simmen (Switzerland); Hans Rudolf Briner (Switzerland); PJ Wormald (Australia); Wolf-Dieter Baumgartner (Austria); Joachim Müller, (Austria); George Sprinzel (Austria); Sujana Chandrasekhar (USA); Dr Alexander Huber (Switzerland); Levent Sennerglu (Turkey); Armagan Incesulu (Turkey); Wafaa Shehata-Dieler (Germany); Joseph Stemple (USA); Enrico Robotti (Italy); Dietmar Thurnher (Austria); Luv Ram Javia (USA); Karl Hoermann (Germany); Maria V. The 4th Young Otologists Forum and the Arab & GCC Research forum recognized nine winners from their research submissions from the GCC countries. The congress attracted more than 130 abstracts and featured more than 150 renowned international and regional speakers.The congress showcased the biggest exhibition during the congress with 36 sponsors and exhibitors.
