The September conference, entitled, 'Innovative Technologies in the Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Patients with Hearing Loss and Deafness', is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Cochlear Implantation Program in Russia.
The Multichannel Cochlear Implant Program was launched in 1991 by the National Research Centre for Audiology and Hearing Rehabilitation with the support of Professor Ernst Lehnhardt from Germany.
Today, more than 1,500 implantations are funded annually from the federal budget, along with the upgrade of speech processors once every five years, and rehabilitation after cochlear implantation is carried out both at cochlear implant centres and at regional audiological centres.
New technologies for diagnosis and rehabilitation are being introduced, and this will be the focus of the conference, which will bring together audiologists, neurotologists, speech therapists, and otosurgeons in a significant milestone
