Otologist Emma Stapleton, is among six new members appointed to the College Council of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).
The Council helps to guide strategy and steer the College’s mission of advancing education and assessment and maintaining professional standards to ensure patient safety everywhere. The newly-appointed Council members will assume their roles on the Council at the College’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 14 November 2025. They represent the College’s diverse and global membership, bringing unique perspectives and expertise.
Emma Stapleton is a Consultant Otolaryngologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Clinical Lead for the Cochlear Implant Programme and Editor of Surgeons’ News. She sits on multiple editorial boards, is Trustee of the TWJ Foundation and BCIG, and is an active researcher at the University of Manchester.
