The European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) has opened the 2026 Sponsorship Award for outstanding theses with special relevance to hearing aid acoustics. The award aims to promote young talent in the hearing aid trade, and is accepting entries from the fields of audiology, hearing aid fitting and customer benefit until 15 August 2026.
The 2026 competition is intended for university students who have completed their studies within the past 24 months. A thesis, from diploma to doctoral, may be submitted so long as they are not protected by a confidentiality clause.
The thesis should deal with a topic concerning the rehabilitation of deficiencies affecting the auditory communication system. The subject matter should be one that can be practically applied by hearing aid acousticians.
EUHA places special emphasis on: auditory applicability of the results found to humans, processes, or production methods; relevance to hearing aid fitting; relevance to customer service. The audiological component will play an important part in the assessment.
In addition to the prize money, which is between 1000 and 3000 Euros, the award winners are given the opportunity to present their work at the world’s largest hearing care event – the EUHA Congress. The 2026 EUHA Sponsorship Award ceremony will be held on 14 October 2026, the first day of the 70th International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians in Hanover. An article on the respective research topic will be published in the specialist journal Hörprofil as well as on the EUHA website.
