Professor Maria Suurna, International Coordinator of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation (AAO-HNSF), is hosting
a complimentary Global Grand Rounds Webinar on Saturday 26 July, 9.00 – 10.30 am.




The webinar will focus on practice management strategies for chronic otitis media. This event is held in collaboration with the African Otology Society and the CEORL-HNS, bringing together international perspectives to advance education and care in otolaryngology.

The AAO-HNSF Global Grand Rounds series is an initiative of the Academy’s International Advisory Board (IAB) to improve care of patients and physician education around the globe. These virtual events are held quarterly and are open to all otolaryngologists around the world, free of charge. Moderated by IAB leaders, each session includes world thought leaders and expert panel presentations followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.



On July 29, the topics for discussion will be: the definition and diagnosis of chronic otitis media; tympanoplasty and ossicular chain reconstruction; Mastoidectomy techniques; and hearing rehabilitation options for chronic otitis media. The distinguished panellists will include Yuri Agarwal of the University of Colorado, Carolina Der from the World Health Organisation in Switzerland, Tashneem Harris, from Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa, and Stefan K Plontke from Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. The event will be moderated by Gregory Basura, Founder of AFOS; AAO-HNSF Chair, from the University of Pittsburgh, USA and Titus S Ibekwe, AAO-HNSF Chair, IAB; from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Nigeria.
