Hong Kong SAR, China, has been selected to host the IFOS World Congress of Otorhinolaryngology in 2030. IFOS takes place every four years and the voting for 2030 took place at IFOS 2026 in Istanbul this September, where the winning city was announced.

Prof Michael Tong, who led IFOS2030 winning bid on behalf of Hong Kong SAR, China,
with Prof Angel Ramos, IFOS Secretary General.

Representatives from ENT & Audiology News were delighted to be there for such a memorable moment. Our congratulations to Professor Michael Tong and the Hong Kong bid team on this achievement.

The winning bid presented Hong Kong SAR as an international meeting place – where East meets West – with a vision centred on scientific exchange, international collaboration and showcasing the latest advances in ENT and head and neck research and innovation.

A warm congratulations also to the teams behind the London, Yokohama, Barcelona and Copenhagen bids. Each presented a compelling vision for the future of IFOS, making this a very strong field of candidates.
