The start of a new year is always an opportunity to look forward with a renewed sense of hope and optimism. It is also a chance to look back at the previous 12 months and, looking back to early 2021, we were just at the dawn of the COVID vaccination programme – this had developed at an unprecedented pace, and gave us all huge cause for excitement and hope.
It is such a pleasure to see ever-increasing numbers of meetings going ahead in the coming months – after so much time away from physical gatherings, there seems to be a real hunger for in-person conferences where we can meet up with friends and colleagues.
Music is a central part of many people’s lives, and ENT surgeons and audiologists frequently treat patients whose musical experience is affected by pathology. For September/October 2021, we explore a number of areas in which patients need the support of otologists, laryngologists, audiologists, and others.
