KINDER-2018 had a participation of outstanding foreign and Russian faculty and included twenty operations demonstrated by live broadcast. It involved 184 trainees from the far East of Russia, city of Vladivostok to the West of Russia, city of Kaliningrad.
The Course had been opened by the welcoming speeches of the experts. Among the foreign colleagues who participated in the course were Professor Philippe Eloy, Professor Mark Shikovets and Agnieszka Stremboz.

Every morning started with live surgery. The first day, septoplasty and other surgeries were observed. The second day was dedicated to the problems of the paranasal sinuses. During the third and final day, different surgical procedures, such as endoscopic adenotomy, tonsillectomy, tonsilloadenotomy, balloon tuboplasty, adenotomy in combination with sinusotomy were demonstrated. The trainees had the opportunity to see the operating field fully and to observe the procedure of operations, both via the camera on the surgeon’s headlight, and via the endoscopic and navigation equipment. The surgeons had the opportunity to show the details of the operations, various surgical techniques, and intraoperative manoeuvres. The trainees had a direct connection with the surgeons during the surgical interventions, with the option of asking questions to the surgeons.
In the afternoon a theoretical analysis of topics was examined. The main issues of endoscopy and rhinopharyngosurgery in children, age aspects of anatomy and physiology of the ENT organs, indications and contraindications to surgical treatment were highlighted.
