April 22, 2025. Gothenburg, Sweden. Oticon Medical is thrilled to announce the fifth annual Good Vibrations Day campaign, a month-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about bone anchored hearing. Beginning 3rd April 2025, this campaign has been featuring various social media posts highlighting the cause, along with celebrations in Oticon Medical offices worldwide to spread the word. The campaign will culminate on Good Vibrations Day, celebrated on 3rd May 2025.
Campaign Overview
Good Vibrations Day is an inclusive, non-branded campaign aimed at educating the public about bone conduction as a highly effective hearing treatment for individuals with conductive, mixed, or single-sided hearing losses. Throughout the month, we invite all bone conduction device manufacturers, audiology professionals, and wearers to join us in this global initiative to highlight and celebrate the benefits of this treatment.
Why 3rd May?
The campaign culminates on 3rd May to honour the birthday of Per-Ingvar Brånemark, the esteemed Swedish physician and research professor renowned as the father of osseointegration and the godfather of bone anchored hearing. His pioneering discoveries have paved the way for the development of modern bone conduction hearing devices.
Share Your Stories
We encourage wearers to share video clips, photos, and personal stories showcasing their experiences with bone anchored hearing systems. Hearing care professionals are also invited to share their insights on fitting these devices and the positive impact they have had on their patients' lives.
Understanding Bone Conduction
Bone conduction hearing systems address hearing loss by transmitting sound to the cochlea (inner ear), independently of the function of the ear canal and middle ear, through direct bone conduction. These vibrations are then processed by the brain as sound.
A Global Celebration
Throughout the month of April, Oticon Medical warmly invites all bone conduction device manufacturers, wearers, parents and caregivers, and hearing care professionals to join in celebrating Good Vibrations. Activities may include sharing experiences, information, multimedia content from wearers, and more across various social media platforms.
"As we launch the Good Vibrations Day campaign," says René Govaerts, General Manager at Oticon Medical, "our dedication to the importance of sound remains unwavering. This initiative serves as a significant opportunity to raise awareness about the remarkable benefits of bone conduction. Given that many people around the world are still unaware of bone anchored hearing systems as a viable solution for their hearing loss, it's imperative that we work to change this. Oticon Medical remains committed to advancing our collaborative efforts with other manufacturers, hearing care professionals, and current wearers to ensure that the transformative capability of bone conduction reaches all those in need."
Good Vibrations posts, stories, reels, etc. can be shared by all using the #GoodVibrations and #BoneAnchoredHearing hashtags. They can also be viewed and shared via Oticon Medical global Facebook page: Oticon Medical
