Hearing aid innovator Signia, part of WSA, has launched Multi-adaptive Xperience (MaX), a world-first hearing aid platform powered by Acoustic Intelligence™.

The technology combines four Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) to analyse speech, background noise, the listening environment and the wearer’s own voice simultaneously, helping people engage more confidently in challenging situations such as busy restaurants, family gatherings and workplace meetings.

In testing, 97% of wearers performed better in noisy group conversations with Signia MaX than with leading competitor devices. Independent testing also ranked the platform first for signal-to-noise ratio performance in group conversations.

The new Signia MaX chip delivers 54 times more processing power than previous generations, 50% greater energy efficiency and twice the memory, enabling continuous, real-time sound analysis throughout the day. Its four AI systems include:

  • RealTime Conversation Enhancement AI, which locates and enhances multiple speakers in dynamic group conversations.
  • Own Voice Processing AI, trained using 1.5 million voice samples to recognise the wearer’s voice without in-clinic calibration.
  • Ambient Scene Adaptation AI, which analyses speech, noise and room acoustics in real time.
  • Dynamic Noise Control AI, which identifies the type and location of noise and adjusts noise reduction accordingly.

Phillip Stores, MD of WSA UK & Ireland, said: “Acoustic Intelligence™ reimagines AI sound processing to unlock an unparalleled listening experience. With Signia MaX, we have built system intelligence that fundamentally changes what patients can expect from their hearing aids.”

Pure C&G MaX will be the first receiver-in-canal hearing aid available on the platform. Offered in eight colours, it provides up to 28 hours of battery life, including five hours of streaming. It also features Signia’s OneConnect Technology, supporting Bluetooth® Classic, LE Audio, Telecoil and Auracast™ connectivity.

Signia MaX will be available through hearing care professionals across the UK and Ireland from 4 September 2026, with further products to follow.
