The British Laryngological Association (BLA) will be running its flagship “Cutting Edge Laryngology” meeting in September at the Royal Society of Medicine. The BLA President Nick Gibbins explains that the programme, put together by Chadwan Al-Yaghchi, Tori Burnay and Justin Roe features a superb and wide-ranging selection of topics, including sessions on robotics in laryngology, augmentation injection materials, dysplasia, thyroplasty and many others.
There is a stellar list of speakers: overseas faculty include Markus Hess (GER), Peak Woo (USA), Anthony Rotman (AUS), Teemu Kinnari (FIN), Karuna Dewan (USA), Nikki Johnston (USA) and Kiminori Sato (JPN).
More broadly, Nick explained that the BLA continues to go from strength to strength, with particular focus on international links – in December, for example, a delegation of BLA speakers will be in Mumbai to speak at the 20th Workshop on Phonosurgery, run by Nupur Nerurkar.
