This is a very well-written textbook of robotic surgery in the field of head and neck, written by world-renowned specialists. The book covers the topics of training and education and application of robotic surgery in the management of both benign and malignant head and neck pathologies. It also provides detailed guidance in setting up the operating theatre and instrumentation. The authors also highlight the future of robotic surgery.

The book is divided into 16 chapters addressing the individual tumour sites which include oropharynx, larynx and hypopharynx. There are also chapters on the application of robotic surgery in the management of sleep apnoea, parapharyngeal space tumours, skull base surgery and thyroidectomy. This book is of a very high quality, complete with colour photographs and diagrams; it also provides access to videos.

This book provides valuable information and knowledge; I will recommend it for otolaryngologists with a special interest in head and neck robotic surgery. I also feel that the maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons and trainees with a special interest in management of head and neck pathology will also find it invaluable for improving the management of patients with head and neck pathology. This book is a valuable resource for anyone who is planning to set up and practise robotic surgery in head and neck.
