The Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is the largest and longest running educational meeting for otolaryngologists in the Middle East. The 18th Annual Meeting will include didactic lectures, instructional courses, panel discussions, cadaveric workshops, hands-on clinic and industry symposia. The educational programme will update professionals from academia and industry on the latest research and rapid developments occurring in the field.

With more than 80 guest speakers from all over the world, the scientific programme will cover rhinology and anterior skull base surgery, paediatric otolaryngology, cochlear implant & otology and neurotology, rhinoplasty, head and neck surgery, laryngology, sleep surgery and audio vestibular sessions.

The chairperson of the meeting is Mona Ashoor, she is chairperson of the Otolaryngology Department of King Fahad Hospital of the University, College of Medicine, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Muaaz Tarabichi is the co-chair. He is co-founder of the Tarabichi Stammberger Ear and Sinus Institute, Dubai, UAE. He is also a founding board member of the International Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery.

As the first female chairperson of the annual meeting, Mona Ashoor is proud to announce the inauguration of the Women in Otolaryngology Middle East (WIOME) chapter. This will provide female ORL doctors in the Middle East with a platform to share their experiences, while assisting with their career development, giving opportunities for networking and mentoring, and celebrating female ORL pioneers in the region.

"As ME-AOHNS Chairperson, I intend to closely collaborate with all core subspecialties in ORL, to ensure a well-organised and global coverage," says Mona Ashoor. "I will also continue the development of ME-AOHNS outstanding scientific programme and research opportunity and have diverse sessions focusing on the young physicians in ORL."

The conference will be accredited with Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours.
