It is with very heavy hearts that we say farewell to an esteemed member of our ENT & Audiology News team, Dr David Pothier, who passed away peacefully on 27 July. Dave was a man of immense intellectual curiosity and was gifted with numerous skills; he was an enthusiastic, innovative, hard-working, loyal and free-spirited man. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.

“I am sorry to be the bearer of these sad tidings. Our Tech Reviews Editor, Dave Pothier, has sadly passed away on Friday morning in Toronto, following a courageous battle, over many years… Dave displayed amazing bravery in the face of illness and continued to be an active section editor and guest editor during throughout time. We also know from Canadian colleagues that his own work and research carried on at an amazing pace in the face of his imminent demise. He tried to pack a lifetime’s work into his remaining few years… His dignity, courage and tremendous work rate in the face of his illness was inspirational. He certainly did not go quietly into the still night. May he Rest in Peace.”
