The Listening Lab recently celebrated its annual Movie Day for cochlear implant recipients in partnership with Advanced Bionics, bringing together users, families and industry partners for a shared cinema experience.
The event has traditionally been held at Balestier Shaw in Singapore, a favourite venue among participants. However, as attendance continues to grow, future events are expected to move to the larger Lido Shaw Theatres. The move is particularly significant as Lido Shaw features a custom-built audio induction system designed and installed by The Listening Lab's engineering team.
Audio induction loop systems can provide hearing aid and cochlear implant users with clearer sound when accessed through a device's telecoil (T-coil) programme. The Listening Lab encourages patients who enjoy going to the cinema to seek out venues equipped with these systems and to ensure their telecoil programme is activated for the best listening experience.
