MBE for John FitzGerald

Dr John FitzGerald, Consultant Clinical Scientist and Head of Audiology Services at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH) NHS Foundation Trust has been made an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours in June.

20 Observership Travel Grants have been announced for young ENT professionals aged 35 and under. The grant will provide invaluable opportunities for early-career ENT specialists to gain practical experience and broaden their expertise in the field, can be used to cover expenses for visiting a department in a European or non-European country.

Professors Adrian Agius of Malta and John Fenton of Ireland have brought a petition on patient safety to the European Union. “Are European patients fully informed and protected when they consult a specialist in ORL?,” they ask, “And will specialists practicing outside their area of competence be legally liable for their surgical outcomes?”
